The Power of Light

Red light therapy has emerged as an effective method for reducing pain by enhancing circulation. By utilizing specific wavelengths of light, red light therapy stimulate the cells and tissues within our bodies, setting off a chain reaction of beneficial biological processes. When red and near-infrared light penetrates the skin, it is absorbed by cells and specifically by the mitochondria, the cellular powerhouses responsible for generating energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). This absorption of light energy stimulates the mitochondria to produce more ATP, effectively boosting the cell's energy levels and enhancing its ability to perform various functions. Additionally, red light therapy helps to reduce inflammation by regulating the body's inflammatory response and promoting the release of anti-inflammatory molecules. The end result is a versatile treatment that supports the body's natural healing processes and promotes overall health and well-being. From skin rejuvenation and hair growth to pain relief and joint health, red light therapy provides many benefits by kickstarting cellular function and supporting the body's natural healing powers!

Red light is a part of the visible light spectrum and can be found in the range of 620 nm to 750 nm. The cool thing about these longer wavelengths is that they can go deeper into  skin, offering all sorts of helpful effects!Red light wavelengths are known for their therapeutic effects on the body, including skin rejuvenation, wound healing, muscle recovery, and pain reduction. Research has also shown that these wavelengths can stimulate cellular processes and promote the production of key proteins, such as collagen and elastin!

A 2015 study written by Michael R. Hamblin and James Carroll (two pioneers in Phototherapy treatment and PBM research) with co-authors Roberta T. Chow and Howard B. Cotler, concluded that “…Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) is beneficial for pain relief and can accelerate the body’s ability to heal itself. LLLT has a long history and strong basic science evidence, which supports its use in pain management.”[1] More specifically, they determined that Near Infrared Therapy, which includes phototherapy treatments using certain wavelengths of LED light can effectively treat all causes of musculoskeletal pain. “The overall positive short term clinical studies in addition to strong laboratory studies should give the clinical confidence that LLLT may be beneficial for many individuals suffering from musculoskeletal pain, regardless of the cause.”

Light Therapy for Pain Relief & Healing

Numerous studies and anecdotal evidence support its potential benefits, making it a valuable tool for those seeking non-invasive and drug-free alternatives to relieve pain from various conditions.Improved Circulation and Pain Reduction: Red light therapy has been shown to increase circulation and reduce pain. The wavelengths of near-infrared light penetrate deep into tissues, promoting vasodilation and enhancing blood flow. Improved circulation can aid in tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain.

No one wants to send thier pet to surgery. Often, what surgery repairs is quickly reversed by the pet. This causes huge frustration, and not just for the pet!   Red Light Therapy is and affordable treatment effective for a variety of health and wellness applications. Numerous studies and anecdotal evidence support its potential benefits, making it a valuable tool for those seeking non-invasive and drug-free alternatives to relieve pain from various conditions.  If surgery cannot be avoided, Red Light Therapy can accellerate the post-operative healing journey.

The Optimal Wavelengths for Red Light Therapy

The optimal wavelengths for red light therapy usually fall within the range of 630 nm to 680 nm, and 800 nm to 880 nm. These ranges are believed to have the most significant therapeutic effects on the human body, as they can effectively stimulate cellular processes and promote healing. The shorter wavelengths (630-680 nm) are particularly effective for skin-related concerns, such as wound healing and skin rejuvenation. These wavelengths can target the epidermis and dermis, stimulating collagen production, reducing inflammation, and promoting cellular regeneration. The longer wavelengths (800-880 nm) can penetrate deeper into the body, providing relief for conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, and muscle soreness. Some studies have also suggested that longer red light wavelengths might have a positive impact on cognitive function and mental health.

When choosing a red light therapy device or treatment, it's crucial to consider the specific wavelengths offered and how they align with your health goals. Some devices may offer a combination of wavelengths, allowing you to target multiple concerns simultaneously. To be more specific, the LED lights in our devices have a wavelength of 650nm (working in the range of deep red light), and the targeted lasers have a slightly more powerful wavelength of 808nm (working in the range of near-infrared light). This means you get the best of both worlds… The LEDs target the uppermost layers of the skin, and the lasers provide a deeper penetration to your joints and muscle tissue to ensure pinpoint accuracy and fast relief!

Red light is a part of the visible light spectrum and can be found in the range of 620 nm to 750 nm. This area of the spectrum boasts longer wavelengths and lower energy compared to its blue or green light counterparts. The cool thing about these longer wavelengths is that they can go deeper into our skin, offering all sorts of helpful effects! Red light wavelengths are known for their therapeutic effects on the human body, including skin rejuvenation, wound healing, muscle recovery, and pain reduction. Research has also shown that these wavelengths can stimulate cellular processes and promote the production of key proteins, such as collagen and elastin!

All of the Benefits of Light Therapy

Red light therapy has a wide range of potential benefits, with the main ones being:
Pain Relief: It will help alleviate joint and muscle inflammation.
Circulation: It will enhance blood circulation and oxygen delivery to tissues.
Muscle Recovery: Can Stimulate cells to produce more ATP and collagen, each of which are essential ingredients to enhance the speed of muscle recovery and repair.
Skin Rejuvination & Wound Healing: these wavelengths can stimulate cellular processes and promote the production of key proteins, such as collagen and elastin!

As the infographic illustrates, the key to both decreasing pain and increasing sensation is to increase circulation. One of the easiest and non-invasive ways to improve circulation is by using red light therapy. The diodes in the red light therapy device release photons of light of specific wavelength and intensity, which penetrate deep into the body and trigger a cascade of beneficial chemical reactions, especially the instant release of nitric oxide. This is one of the biggest benefits of using red light therapy.
